Lance Reddick

American actor and musician Lance Reddick has passed away according to reports from TMZ. He was known for his work on the HBO series “The Wire” and the “John Wick” film franchise. Law enforcement sources found his body at his Studio City home on Friday morning, and his cause of death is currently unknown but appears to be natural.

Reddick had been promoting the fourth installment of the “John Wick” franchise, in which he played the character Charon, and was scheduled to appear on Kelly Clarkson’s show next week. He posted a video on social media earlier in the week where he appeared to be at home with his dogs instead of attending the “Wick 4” premiere in New York City.

Before his work on “John Wick,” Reddick was best known for his role as fictional Baltimore Police Department officer Cedrick Daniels on “The Wire,” which ran for five seasons. Born and raised in Baltimore, Reddick earned a music degree from the University of Rochester and his MFA from Yale.

In addition to his work on screen, Reddick also provided the voice and likeness for several video game characters, including Martin Hatch in Quantum Break, Sylens in Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West, and Commander Zavala in the Destiny franchise. He was 60 years old at the time of his passing.
