Tragedy as Man commits suicide on Bayelsa flyover

Over the weekend, an unidentified man reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself at the flyover near the NNPC filling station on the Sanni Abacha Expressway in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital.

Residents in the area reported finding his body dangling from the flyover railing on Sunday morning, November 27.

While some residents thought the deceased was insane, others thought he committed suicide because he was unhappy with his life.

Asinim Butswat, a spokesperson for the state police command, confirmed the incident, saying that efforts are being made to identify the deceased’s relatives because no one has come forward to claim his remains, which have been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre mortuary.
