N30m ransom demanded for abducted Katsina farm children by bandits
Bandits have reportedly demanded N30 million in ransom for children kidnapped from a farmland in Katsina State’s Mairuwa community, Faskari Local Government Area.
This followed the announcement by Katsina Police Command spokesman SP Gambo Isah that only 21 children had been abducted.
He stated that the children range in age from 15 to 18 years. Isah went on to say that the command has been working hard to save them.
According to a source who spoke to Channels Television, the bandits are demanding N30 million in ransom or a direct meeting with the owner of the farm where the victims were working.
The source said;
“The terrorists reached out to parents of some of the victims to bargain on the ransom, according to them, they will not collect any amount less than 30 million naira or a direct access to the owner of the farm.
“They further stated that, they had already made their investigations and found out that the owner of the farm is highly rich.”
