Alert the police if you see anyone suspicious in your area - Plateau state police respond to bomb threats at bus stations

The Plateau state police command has issued a statement in response to rumors of planned bomb attacks on bus stations in Jos, the state capital.

According to a statement issued by the state police command’s spokesperson, DSP Alfred Alabo, allegations of an impending bomb threat (IED) in the Terminus area of Jos metropolis are being investigated.

According to Alabo, based on social media rumors, the command has quickly responded to the situation by deploying its Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) unit and other tactical teams to bring the situation under control.

”The Command hereby assures the members of the public of their safety. In view of the above, the Commissioner of Police Plateau State Command CP Bartholomew N. Onyeka psc (+) wishes to implore the good people of Plateau State to be vigilant and report any suspicious person or movements in their areas to the nearest Police Station or other relevant security agencies for quick and prompt response.” the statement read in part

He added that the state Commissioner of Police further implores members of the public to go about their lawful businesses as EOD experts and intelligence mechanisms have been put in place to contain any form of emerging security threat.
