National Security Council: Nnamdi Kanu is discharged, not acquitted of terrorism charges

According to the National Security Council, Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, was discharged and acquitted of terrorism charges by an Appeal Court.

Mohammed Dingyadi, Minister of Police Affairs, briefed the National Security Council on the court ruling shortly after President Muhammadu Buhari convened the meeting today.

According to Dingyadi, the council did not discuss a political solution, but rather centralized discussion on the court’s decision.

The council, according to him, is therefore considering an appropriate action to take on the matter and would notify Nigerians of its final position on the matter in due course.
