Properties Destroyed and Many feared dead as Fire razes Government Line, Ọgbọ Ọgwụ Market, Onitsha (Photos)

A serious chemical explosion occurred at the Government Line, ọgbọ ọgwụ, head bridge market Onitsha, destroying properties and killing many people. Buildings and other market structures were said to have collapsed as a result of the explosion.

Engr. Martin Agbili, Managing Director of the Anambra State Fire Service, confirmed the incident and stated that it affected a section of the market.

However, Agbili stated that the exact cause of the fire outbreak had yet to be determined. He went on to say that firefighters were on their way to the market to put out the fire.

The Chairman of the Transition Committee of Onitsha South Local Government Area was also present at the scene.
