Pharmacy Student from Nigeria Arrested in India for Possession of 15.56 Grams of Heroin

The anti-narcotics cell of Panchkula in Haryana, India made an arrest on Sunday, February 12, 2023 of a Nigerian national named Nwosu Echezoma, alias Amaica. The 29-year-old student, who is pursuing BPharma from a college in Mullana, Ambala, was taken into custody for allegedly supplying heroin to drug peddlers. Upon the arrest, the police found 15.56 grams of heroin in his possession.

Nwosu’s arrest was the result of the disclosure made by Surajpal Singh, alias Robin, who was caught with 8.78 grams of heroin near the Amartex showroom on February 9, 2023. Singh was booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and taken into police custody for two days.

During interrogation, Singh revealed the source of the drugs, which led to the arrest of Nwosu. According to the police, “The Nigerian national used to source drugs from Delhi and supplied them in and around Ambala.” Nwosu has been remanded into police custody for two days and will be further questioned to uncover his network.
