Police Arrest House on the Rock Pastor for Preaching with AK-47, Call for Dismissal of Police Officer Involved
On Sunday, February 12, Pastor Uche Aigbe, who leads the House on the Rock church in Abuja, was apprehended by the Intelligence Response Team of the Force Intelligence Bureau in Garki, Abuja. This was due to the fact that he was holding an AK-47 rifle during his sermon. The incident caused quite a commotion in the church, leading to an investigation by the FCT Police Command, which revealed that the weapon had been given to Aigbe by Inspector Musa Audu, who was on an assignment in the church.
Upon being questioned, Inspector Audu explained that he had only handed over the gun to Pastor Aigbe so that he could use it as a prop for his sermon illustration. As a result of these events, the Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory, Sadiq Abubakar, has recommended the dismissal of Inspector Audu to the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba.
