Brigadier-General Muhammad Kukah Fadah

President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria has approved the removal of Brigadier-General Muhammad Kukah Fadah from his position as Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

According to sources, Fadah was fired because he “exhibited glaring incompetence” during his six months in charge of NYSC.

According to The Guardian, Fadah has been ordered to hand over to the most senior civil servant in the NYSC to lead it in the interim until Buhari appoints a substantive DG.

Sunday Dare, Minister of Sports and Youth Development, whose office oversees the NYSC, also confirmed Fadah’s dismissal.

Dare responded to an inquiry from Arise TV on Friday with a ‘yes’ to the questions about the removed NYSC DG.

Fadah assumed office as NYSC DG in May, 2022. He replaced Major General Shu’aibu Ibrahim.
