Six women and one-year-old baby are rescued from terrorists in Zamfara by the police
The Zamfara State Police have rescued a one-year-old baby and six women kidnapped by terrorists at Kadamutsa village in the state’s Zurmi Local Government Area.
SP Muhammad Shehu, the command’s spokesman, stated in a statement on Friday, November 25, 2022, that the rescue was the result of an extensive search-and-rescue operation along the Zurmi-Jibiya axis.
“Today being 25th November 2022, Police Tactical Operatives in collaboration with Vigilante acted on intelligence information regarding the abduction of Six (6) women and a 1-year-old child by bandits terrorist at Kadamutsa village of Zurmi LGA on 24th November 2022,” the statement read.
“The Police operatives mobilized to the location where a search and rescue operation was conducted along Zurmi – Jibiya axis, leading to the unconditional rescue of all the victims unhurt
“The victims were taken to the hospital for a medical check, debriefed by the Police detectives, and handed over their families,”
The Commissioner of Police, CP Kolo Yusuf psc, while commending the Police operatives and vigilantes for the successful rescue operation, congratulates the victims for regaining their freedom.
He reiterates the Command’s continuous determination to rid the state of criminal activities and apprehend criminal elements committing heinous crimes across the state.
