Atiku Abubakar wins the PDP presidential primary
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primary poll on Saturday, May 28.
The 75-year-old lawmaker defeated 12 other candidates in the election conducted at the Moshood Kashimawo Abiola Stadium’s velodrome complex in Abuja.

He received 371 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, who received 237 votes, and former Senate President Bukola Saraki, who received 70 votes to come third.
Aminu Tambuwal, the governor of Sokoto state, stepped down during the election.
