Wike assembly de-recognizes Omehia as a former governor
Governor Nyesom Wike has ratified the State Assembly resolution that de-recognized Celestine Omehia as a former Rivers state governor.
Omehia was removed from office by the Supreme Court in 2007, after only about five months in office. He will no longer be known or addressed as the state’s former governor.
According to Channels Television, Wike, who spoke at the signing ceremony at Government House in Port Harcourt on Friday, October 7, urged the public not to politicize the State Assembly’s decision in an attempt to correct an error.
